My Kitchen Essentials

In the past three years we have really done a great job at eliminating processed foods from our home. We also have become a more frugal and greener household and there are many items that we do not buy from the grocery store any longer. Here is a list.

Eggs, Honey, most Fruits and Veggies, Canned or Frozen Fruits and Veggies.

There is a great article here here and here about grocery store eggs and why we do not buy them from the grocery store.

We buy all of these items at our local farmers market or we grow our own when we can. I know that some of you may not be into the whole farmers market scene but I highly encourage you to seek them out and get to know your local farmers and where the food that you are putting into your body comes from. I mean whats not to love about the farmers markets? Fresh seasonal fruits and veggies, local eggs and meats, flowers, music, local vendors selling delicious homemade goodies and body products, local honey, and such a great vibe in the whole place that just makes you feel good. Some of my best friends and relationships have been made at the farmers markets. I can’t think of a better place to be. Once you start replacing your store bought ingredients with local fresh ingredients you will notice a huge difference. Your taste buds and your health will thank you!!

Here are some ingredients that we always have on hand for a fresh and nourishing meal.
